Fungal fermentation technology to improve poultry digestion and gut health
MAXFERM is a functional fermentation product designed to improve feed utilisation and gut integrity in poultry. Produced through a solid-state fermentation process with selected fungal strains, it contains residual enzymatic activity that breaks down non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) — unlocking more energy and nutrients from grains.
Improved digestibility – Increases protein, fat, and starch availability for broilers.
Better feed conversion – Trials show FCR reductions of up to 0.05 compared to control.
Stronger growth – Broilers fed MAXFERM achieved higher live weight gains.
Supports gut health – Stabilises the gastrointestinal tract and promotes beneficial microflora.
Environmental benefit – Reduces nitrogen excretion by up to 10%.
Breaks fibre barriers – NSP degradation improves energy utilisation by 0.3–0.5 MJ MEN-corr./kg.
Residual enzymatic activity – Supports breakdown of complex feed components.
Postbiotic & prebiotic effects – Provide conditions for healthier gut flora and stronger gut integrity.
Broiler trials (36 days, Ross 308):
Live weight gain increased by ~100 g compared to control.
Feed conversion improved from 1.71 → 1.67.
Nutrient efficiency: Higher digestibility of protein and fat; lower faecal nitrogen.
